4 Tips to Prevent Hair Loss

Hair loss is something that affects 40% of men by age 40 and by age 60, approximately 80% of women suffer some degree of noticeable hair loss.

The question is, what can we do to prevent it and how do we treat it? Today I am going to share with you 4 strategies to keep the hair you have.

  • 1. You are what you eat. Your body requires vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to function. given the very complex nature of the human body, it needs all of its nutrition to operate and the hair isn't a vital part. Meaning you don't need it to survive so if your body isn't properly nourished your hair will suffer. I encourage you to eat the rainbow in every meal and include a variety of protein, simple carbohydrates, and fats. I suggest avoiding or cutting back on sugar caffeine and alcohol.

  • Manage your stress levels. This seems a bit cliche and maybe overrated but it's one of the most important things you can do for your overall health, not only your hair. Each day, find quiet, even if you have to sit in your car for a few minutes at the end of the day. Take some deep breaths and really relax. A walk in nature really helps me unwind and de-stress. There is something about the trees that really bring peace.

3.Today we are so busy, we've even found ways to not wash our hair. I'm not saying you have to shampoo daily, but product buildup and environmental debris can get onto your scalp and clog your hair follicles. Keeping your scalp clean and your follicles clear creates the optimal environment for hair growth. I recommend an exfoliating scalp treatment or scalp prep at least once per week and ideally every time you shampoo. Daily shampooing isn't necessary unless you have a really oily scalp but every other day is ideal. If you're worried about your hair becoming dry there are many really great moisturizing conditioners and treatments to help.

4. If you are genetically predisposed, early intervention is key. The sooner you start blocking DHT and promoting circulation the less hair you will lose. We offer Low-Level Laser Light therapy, supplements, and products that are proven to regrow hair and prevent hair loss. If you already have noticeable hair loss, it may not be too late. Come in for a thorough consultation and examination to see if you are a candidate for treatment. We approach hair loss in a holistic way. We re-grow hair using all-natural ingredients in our supplements and products.
