Frequently Asked Questions

What is trichology?

Trichology is the study of hair and scalp disorders. It is the para-medical scientific study of hair, hair loss, and associated scalp problems. It encompasses the study of the diseases of the human hair and scalp, as well as the assessment of the cause(s) and cosmetic treatment of these disorders.

Today, trichology is perceived as the "bridge between cosmetology and dermatology."

I think my hair loss is genetic, is there anything that can help me regrow my hair?

Yes, Genetic loss can be re-grown. There are many things that need to be considered before you can be given an accurate timeline but we've seen much success with men and women who have suffered from genetic hair loss.

Do I have to treat my hair loss for the rest of my life so it doesn't all fall out again?

Depending on the type of loss you're experiencing the answer is yes and no. There are types of hair loss that can be managed relatively quickly and don't require maintenance. However, there are some types of loss that require some sort of maintenance to keep you in a growth cycle. Your hair will not all fall out at once if you stop. It will slowly return to the cycle pattern that you had prior to treatment.

I have male pattern baldness and I'm worried my sons will have it too. Is there anything that they can do now to prevent losing their hair?

Absolutely! The sooner they start the better. We can help them keep all the hair they have and re-grow some they may have lost.

I'm just getting old, I have old hair. Is there anything I can do to give my hair some new life?

Laser, products, and supplements all create a healthy habitat for your hair to grow. The healthier your scalp the better your hair, no matter what your age is! So the answer is YES!

I eat a plant-based diet, do I need to eat meat to re-grow my hair?

As much as I would like everyone to consume some animal protein for health, I realize that it isn't possible for everyone. The main reason is, iron is a mineral that everyone needs for healthy hair growth and lack of it is a major cause of hair loss in women and can be a cause for men too. I recommend visiting a nutritional therapist or dietician to have them help you get the appropriate protein and fat balance your hair and body needs for optimal health. I have some recommendations if you would like, send me a message and I'll refer you. to have them help you.
